The Japan PGx Data Science Consortium (JPDSC) was founded in February 2009, identifying 6 leading pharmaceutical companies in Japan, namely Astellas Pharma, Inc.; Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd.; Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation as its charter members. The main objective of the JPDSC is to build a control DNA database for the Japanese, for application to genetic investigations on adverse drug reactions and facilitate in the development of drugs with high efficacy and safety.
